As The Big Bull is set to release digitally on April 8, one Twitter user asked Abhishek why he should watch the film. The Big Bull was expected to have a theatrical release but the pandemic forced the makers to go for a digital premiere instead. In fact, while they had finished shooting The Big Bull, many members from the team were infected with Covid during the post production.

“We had finished shooting the film before lockdown. The film was slated for an October release. Then, lockdown happened and we decided to release it digitally. There was no clarity as to what would happen to cinemas. (The film’s producer) Ajay (Devgn) spoke to me in April and said that we should release the film digitally. We didn’t know if theatres open and if people would come. So we thought, why not release it digitally since we know people will watch. We had some tweaks left which we had to shoot. We did this when I recovered from Covid. Then (director) Kookie (Gulati) got Covid, one of the co-producers got infected. Thankfully, everyone is safe now. Most of the shoot was finished before Covid struck our country,” Abhishek recently told IANS.

The film is bankrolled by actor Ajay Devgn and Anand Pandit and also stars Ileana D’Cruz, Nikita Dutta, and Sohum Shah, and is slated to stream on Disney+ Hotstar VIP and Disney+ Hotstar Premium on April 8.

Meanwhile, Abhishek wrapped up shooting for the Agra schedule of his upcoming film Dasvi. The movie is directed by Tushar Jalota. The film also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur.

This little gem of a photo is one of my prized possessions. It was taken around the year 2007/08 at ND Studio in Karjat. I was about 22 years old, working as an assistant director. I took up this particular job only because the ad film featured the one & only MS Dhoni. I was overworked and underpaid, but I didn’t care- I just wanted to be in His presence. I was even injured at the time, but I worked through the pain in the hope that as a reward for my sincere efforts, I would be granted a chance to briefly meet MSD and maybe get a photo with him. When I finally met him, I was completely awestruck. He was so humble, so down-to-earth, full of grace and exuded an unmistakable aura of kindness. My love, respect and reverence for him grew even stronger. After I did my first movie, Sapna (who was our common hairstylist at the time) called me one day and said ‘hey I know you’re a massive MSD fan, he’s shooting at Mehboob studio, come & meet him if you’d like’. Man-oh-man! I just dropped everything and rushed to the studio to meet him! He was jovial and warm and praised my performance in BBB. We hung out, I had my cap and jersey signed by him, like a true fanboy. That day, I felt like I was walking on the clouds! Since then, every time that I have the good fortune of meeting him, I am left energised and enthused, as if a big brother has blessed me with energy and motivation to go out and be the best that I can be. ?? — Shraddha (@ShraddhaKapoor) May 12, 2020

Every year, International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12, the birth anniversary of British nurse Florence Nightingale, who was known as the founder of modern nursing. In January 1974, May 12 was chosen to celebrate the day as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale. The theme for this year is “Nursing the World to Health”. This year is the 200th birth anniversary of Nightingale.

WHO’s site read, “Historically, as well as today, nurses are at the forefront of fighting epidemics and pandemics – providing high quality and respectful treatment and care. They are often the first and sometimes the only health professional that people see and the quality of their initial assessment, care and treatment is vital. Nurses account for more than half of all the world’s health workers, yet there is an urgent shortage of nurses worldwide with 5.9 million more nurses still needed, especially in low- and middle-income countries.”

It also emphasised the importance of nurses. “The Covid-19 pandemic is a stark reminder of the vital role nurses play. Without nurses and other health workers, we will not win the battle against outbreaks, we will not achieve the Sustainable Development Goals or universal health coverage.”
