After filing for divorce, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya, wishes to get back with him and end all the grievances

Last year, in May, Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s wife Aaliya had sent a legal notice to her husband demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life. She had complained that she is unable to pay her children’s school fees as Nawazuddin has stopped paying her the monthly allowance. The actor’s lawyer had rejected the claims. However, almost a year later, Aaliya, has a change of heart and said that she does not intend to divorce her husband. She cited the reason that Nawazuddin has been taking good care of her children and enquiring about her health while she battles COVID-19. When Aaliya was asked about why she is willing to get back with Nawaz after accussing him of being a lousy husband and a parent, she told ABP News, “For the last 10 days, I have been battling the COVID-19 virus, which is the reason I have been living in isolation in my house in Mumbai. Nawaz, who is currently busy shooting in Lucknow, is taking care of our children Yaani Siddiqui and Shora Siddiqui.” Also Read – Shamas dismisses Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya’s allegations, as a ‘ploy to divert attention from the Rs. 2.16 crore she owes’ [Exclusive]

“Despite being extremely busy, Nawaz is taking good care of both our children including their education and other needs. Not only this, he often calls me and enquires about my health and needs. I am very impressed with this side of Nawaz and it touched my heart. Earlier, he was never able to pay attention to his children. But now, I am really surprised to see him like this,” she added. Aaliya had levelled serious allegations against Nawaz in her divorce notice. In response, Nawaz too had sent a legal notice to his wife alleging her of ‘engaging in fraud, willful and planned defamation and slander of character.’ Nawaz, in his notice, had asked his wife not to make defamatory comments against him and also issue a written clarification for whatever she said.

When Aaliya was asked whether they are talking their grievances out, she replied, “Both me and Nawaz will try together to remove all the problems between us. Going forward, we will sort all the problems and misconceptions. We have been talking about this.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma come together for Jogira Sara Ra Ra; shoot begins from THIS date

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma are all set to share the screen space for the first time in Kushan Nandy’s Jogira Sara Ra Ra. Interestingly, Sanjay Mishra also has a pivotal role in the film. Mimoh Chakraborty is going to be joining the cast as well. The movie will be shot in Barabanki town, a tiny quaint and beautiful locale near Lucknow, and will go on floors from 25th February onward. This will be followed by the city of Lucknow, Rahimabad and Benaras. One thing’s for certain is that it’ll be interesting to see Nawazuddin Siddiqui paired opposite a fresh face like Neha Sharma, who’s talent is also criminally underrated, which could finally give her the scope to shine that’s probably eluded her thus far. Director Kushan Nandy says, “Jogira Sara Ra Ra! is a quirky romantic comedy about an unlikely couple and a host of unusual characters. We begin our start to finish schedule with all of them, from the end of this month, and go on right until the middle of April. It’s exciting to work with Nawaz once again and create something diametrically opposite of what we did last time. This is a very special film for Nawaz and me and the wait because of the covid lockdown seemed endless. I am so glad that finally we are going to be on the sets and will begin shooting. Also I am looking forward to working with Neha and exploring her inherent goofiness and fun vibe.” Also Read – Babumoshai Bandookbaaz box office collection day 7: Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s film rakes in Rs 12.34 crore

Nawazuddin Siddiqui credits ‘struggling’ days for success today; says, ‘A man can also learn if the time is bad’

Nawazuddin Siddiqui recalled his days of struggles and said that it has helped him achieve all the success he has today. The actor started his acting career with a one-scene appearance in the 1999 film Sarfarosh. Anutag Kashyap’s Gangs Of Wasseypur series of 2012 helped him attain critical acclaim and popularity, which he soon substantiated doing films such as Kahaani and Kick. Today, Nawazuddin is tagged as one of the finest actors in Hindi cinema. Also Read – Nawazuddin Siddiqui calls talent a ‘vague word’; says, ‘Aaj kal har actor bolta hai ki main talented hoon’

Talking about his run in Hindi cinema, Nawazuddin told IANS, “In my journey, I spent 12 years struggling. The 46-year-old actor has had his share of hits and misses. “There were ups and downs in the beginning,” he recalled, adding, “The times of struggles cannot be forgotten. I have learned a lot from those times, too. I experienced a lot of things then and it has helped me today. A man can also learn if the time is bad. I have learned a lot from that time (phase), and that is helping me today,” Nawazuddin added. In 2020, the actor had two acclaimed performances, in releases the OTT-released films Raat Akeli Hai and Serious Men.

Talking to E Times the actor said that talent has become a vague word. He said, “Well, talent is a different thing, what I was confident about was my craft and hard work. I believe that talent is a vague word. Aaj kal har actor bolta hai ki main talented hoon. You might be talented, par ek picture mein khapat ho jayegi talent. Aage kya? For that, you need training, education, skill and experience. Talent ke basis pe ek picture kar sakte ho, but to consistently do good work, you have to work on your craft. Talent mein bhi badlaav aata hai, but if you keep working hard on your craft, you can polish your skill and talent. There is no such theory that an actor is talented for life, it is an ongoing process.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui weighs in on the OTT vs theatres debate; says, ‘A film worth Rs. 100 crore or Rs. 15 crore will be the same’

The burning OTT vs theatrical debate has been raging both in cinema circles across Bollywood and regional industries in India as well as movie-buffs. Now, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a regular on OTT platforms, has weighed in his thoughts. In an interview to Bollywood Hungama, the actor said, “There is freedom and there is an advantage especially with bigger OTT platforms like Netflix. There is an advantage because, when a film made on the budget of Rs 100-150 crore is released in the theatres, it takes over all the screens, even if the movie is shit.” Also Read – Raat Akeli Hai Movie Review: Nawazuddin Siddiqui fails to salvage an excruciatingly slow crime thriller

Opening up on the perceived parity that he feels will be ushered in with more OTT releases, Nawazuddin Siddiqui added, “On the other hand, good, low budget films do not get screens and even if they get it will get a show at 11 in the morning or 11 in the night. Atleast now, if the film is worth Rs 100 crore or Rs 15 crore, when released on Netflix, the viewership will be the same. Now, it all depends on which film is good and what people want to watch. Thank God, because of this platform the film goes across the globe and we have a vast audience.” Also Read – Filmy Friday: Shakuntala Devi, Lootcase, Yaara, Raat Akeli Hai: Which movie you are planning to watch this weekend?

In her review of Nawaz’s latest OTT release, Raat Akeli Hai, BollywoodLife’s film critic, Urmimala Banerjee gave the film 2/5 stars and wrote: “The biggest drawback of the film is its pace. If it was shorter by 30 minutes, it could have been a different film altogether. We wonder why A Sreekar Prasad did not trim it because of some of the scenes are just for mood-building. Radhika Apte is efficient but the chemistry between Nawaz and her is somewhat disappointing. Raat Akeli Hai packs in some solid elements but is let down by its pace. If you are looking for thrills, it delivers them in a very inconsistent manner.” Also Read – Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya, claims he is silent as his ‘career and stardom are at stake’ — read open letter

Sushant Singh Rajput suicide: Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother Shamas claims ‘there are people like Rhea Chakraborty, who blackmail people for money’

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother Shamas Siddiqui has reacted to Sushant Singh Rajput’s case as yesterday late actor’s father filed FIR against Rhea Chakraborty. SSR’s father KK Singh has mentioned that she threatened his son to destroy his reputation in front of the public. Shamas claimed that there are many people like Rhea Chakraborty, who blackmail people for money and destroy their reputation on social media. Also Read – Trending Entertainment News Today: Ankita Lokhande posts a cryptic message after FIR gets lodged against Rhea Chakraborty

चाहे वो ब्लैक्मेल पर्सनली किया जाये या मीडिया और ट्विटर के द्वारा।

— Shamas Nawab Siddiqui (@ShamasSiddiqui) July 28, 2020

The FIR filed by KK Singh has several sections of the Indian Penal code – 306 (abetment to suicide). 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120 (criminal conspiracy). Sushant Singh Rajput’s father also mentioned the aspects, on which Rhea should be interrogated, as the FIR reads, ‘Rhea, along with her family members and aides, cheated my son, committed fraud, and kept him confined. They forced my son to commit suicide and I pray that the following aspects be probed:
1: My son had no mental health issues till 2019. How did these crop up suddenly after he met Rhea?
2: If he was indeed suffering from such an ailment, why were we not contacted? Why was a no-objection letter from us for his treatment not sought?
3: We suspect the doctors who were treating my son at Rhea’s behest were also involved in the conspiracy. We demand to know what was the line of the treatment and what medicines were prescribed to Sushant.
4: If Rhea knew that Sushant was not well, why did she break off with him and block him? This is the reason he committed suicide.
5: After going through my son’s bank account details, I realised that he had around Rs 17 crore in his account number 10XXXXXX91, out of which Rs 15 crore were transferred into accounts that had nothing to do with him. We demand a probe into all bank accounts and credit cards my son had and how much money has been used.
6: Before this episode Sushant had a credible name in the acting profession. Why is it that after Rhea came in his life he stopped getting movies?
7: My son wanted to settle down in Coorg as a farmer but Rhea objected and threatened to finish him off. We demand a probe into this.
I tried to contact Sushant on several occasions, but being based in Patna, couldn’t travel to Mumbai regularly. But Rhea and her family members blocked my attempts. I’m 74 years old, and I realise that the Mumbai Police, instead of bringing the main culprits to book, are investigating those who have little to do with this case. I pray that my complaint be looked into, and a SIT be set up to probe this.” Also Read – Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case: The transactions made from the actor’s account to be probed by the Bihar police

Nawazuddin Siddiqui responds to wife Aaliya’s divorce notice, says, he is bearing the expenses of his children

Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is known for his powerful performances in films is finding himself in the news for his tumultuous personal life. His wife, Aaliya Siddiqui has filed for divorce and demanded sole custody of the kids, Shora and Yanni. Nawazuddin Siddiqui through his lawyer, Adnan Shaikh has sent a legal notice to her. As per The Times Of India, the notice demands a clarification from her for “engaging in fraud, willful and planned defamation” and “slander of character”. She had sent him a divorce notice on May 7. His lawyer has said that he has responded to it in 15 days. Right now, the actor is in Budhana, which is his home town. She had claimed that Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an uncaring father. In her statements, Aaliya said that the star does not come to meet his kids in months. She has also spoken about her financial crunch as he is apparently not supporting them financially. In the legal notice, such statements have been debunked. His lawyer says, “EMI is still being paid by my client. Other children related expenses too. Divorce notice was replied to but again, she has stated the contrary in order to defame through this well thought slander campaign.” The kids are with their mother in Mumbai. Aaliya Siddiqui in a long interview to BollywoodLife said, “He (Nawaz) had never raised his hands on me, but the shouting and arguments had become unbearable. You could say though that only that was left. Yes, but his family has mentally and physically tortured me a lot. His brother had even hit me. His mother and brothers and sisters-in-law used to stay with us only in Mumbai. So, I’ve been bearing a lot for too many years. His first wife had also left him for this reason alone. It’s a pattern. There are already seven cases registered by the wives of their house against them, and four divorces have taken place. This is the fifth one. It’s a pattern in his family. You conceal a lot to avoid embarrassment before others, but how much can you take in love.” Also Read – Sushant Singh Rajput suicide: Nawazuddin Siddiqui recounts his episode with depressions; says, I thought ‘I would die’

His wife Aaliya Siddiqui has filed for divorce saying that she has been emotionally and mentally harassed in her relationship. Whenever, Nawazuddin Siddiqui goes home to Budhana, he does farming. It is a ritual for him. He also says that he prefers to farm when he is home so that people do not see him differently as a celebrity. He has mustard farms in Budhana. He once told NDTV, “My interaction with farmers here helps me understand their problems better. I myself used to farm therefore understand the roadblocks a farmer faces. With well-researched action, the aim is to improve conditions for farmers.” Also Read – Sushant Singh Rajput suicide: Nawazuddin Siddiqui recounts his episode with depressions; says, I thought ‘I would die’

Shamas dismisses Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya’s allegations, as a ‘ploy to divert attention from the Rs. 2.16 crore she owes’ [Exclusive]

Shamas, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother, has been in Bollywood news circles for quite some time over allegations domestic violence, mental trauma, and a complete lack of respect on the part of Nawaz, Shamasuddin Siddiqui and their family. Addressing Aaliya Siddiqui’s allegations in an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, he said, “I used to always try sort out the differences between and her and my brother. In fact, I was the one who had introduced them, she had worked with me first in a film where she had acted and I was an assistant Director.” Also Read – Shamas Siddiqui, files fraud and defamation case against Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya

Elaborating on why his name has cropped up, Shamasuddin Siddiqui continued, “I’m being dragged in the middle of a husband and wife’s issues. Aaliya is joining one unrelated incident with the other. Aaliya is levying a molestation charge on me, but this is very easy for a lady to claim nowadays. It’s a very serious accusation, but it has to be proven first. Why isn’t she going to court with these charges? Not even an FIR has been lodged. I think she has filed a complaint. But there’s a big difference between a complaint and a court case. I’ve not even met Aaliya fsince four months, and a Section 354 complaint (molestation charge) is valid only for six months. Even the police needs proof, these are legal matter. She needs to prove them first.” Also Read – ‘Lot will be revealed,’ Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya comes out in support of niece’s claims of sexual harassment

Opening up on the claims of physical violence and mental torture, he added, “Aaliya has raised allegations of domestic violence against my family, not me. The major accusation is against Ayaazuddin Siddiqui, another brother. But she herself has said that Nawaz and her were living separately most of the time over the past five years, so how could my family have stayed with her,” we interrupt and remind him that Aaliya claimed that her husband’s family would come over and stay with her, to which Shamas responded, “That’s a complete lie. Our mother and sister, who has died of cancer, used to come sometimes to Mumbai and stay with me. I have a pretty big home here.” Also Read – Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya, reveals she had warned him against his controversial autobiography: He thought he was being ‘mahan’

Upon probing if she insinuated about the times she must’ve stayed at their village home, he replied, “Except for family functions, she used not stay with us in the village. And why hasn’t she gone to the family court with these issues? Why she’s only telling the media? This has become a matter of media trial vs. court?”

Mentioning that she had told us she just wants a divorce and monetary support from Nawaz, forgetting everything else as a bad dream, especially since there’s been 4 divorces cases already in his family, including that of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s first wife, with seven more cases pending by the women of his fame, Shamas retorted. “Tell her to prove it that four divorces have happened. How many cases have been filed tell her to prove it. She has to prove all this. There’s a heaven and hell difference between placing allegations on Twitter and proving them in court.”

Upon pushing him further to frankly say if four divorces have taken place in him family or not, he finally stated, “No they haven’t taken place (four divorces). She’s only laying blames without proof. The women whom she’s talking about are preparing defamation cases against her. They’re happily married to my brothers with their children.”

With him refuting every one of Aaliya’s allegations as lies and ploys to gain the upper hand, we asked Shamas Siddiqui her motive behind it, to which he said, “It’s because of the Rs. 2.16 crore that she owes me. She never returned a penny to me. She didn’t respond positively to my emails, after which I was forced to file a case. As per the contract, I had lent her the money in April 2019 for her film, without asking for interest or profit. I just wanted her to return to my principle amount. But I had to keep lending her money as I was stuck. If her film, Holy Cow, did not complete, then I wouldn’t get my money back. So I kept lending more money so that it’d be made and I’d get my money back. It got completed in January 2020, and she event found buyers for it. She still didn’t return my money after that.”

Claiming how Aaliya Siddiqui’s allegations are a ruse to sidetrack the real issue, he explained. “This is all a money matter. I was forced to hire a lawyer after no positive response to my last email on 14th January, and we then started communicating through notices. As soon as their divorce controversy began, she deliberately started involving me and saying I was an issue. This was all a ploy to divert attention from the 2 crore 16 lakh she owes me, so that I don’t pursue the matter.”

The plot thickens between Aaliya, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his brother, Shamas Nawab, and the rest of their family.

It is useless to have such big dreams as once you get disappointments, it pushes towards depression. For about 10 years, I just wanted to survive in this industry. However, there were times when I too faced depression but used to be happy to do even one scene in a film. It is important to sail through in your entire journey. In a year, Aaliya has not done any complaint against me. I have a business relationship with Nawaz Bhai. I have been a famous TV director from 2007 to 2012 and as a business manager of Nawaz Bhai I used to charge a significant amount of money after leaving TV. Aaliya used to be my good friend and I always supported her in her career. I have nothing to do with the divorce case of both of them. I only mean with my money.” Also Read – Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya, reveals she had warned him against his controversial autobiography: He thought he was being ‘mahan’

“I gave 1.12 crore from personal account and 91 lakhs from the company (Aaliya has been asked to take shares in the company as a partner of 25%). Emailed on 14th January. I did not demand any kind of profit for Aaliya after her name was sold for the film or in writing. Even after the advance, I kept giving money to Aaliya so that the film could be sold and ready and my money returned.” Also Read – Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya, claims that he had humiliated her in front of Manoj Bajpayee

Shamas lawyer Adnan Shaikh says, “The fact is that Aaliya aka Anjana has not mentioned about 2 crore rupees once in 2 months of her media presence until the media has reported our cases , Indicating that she was always misrepresenting Shamas who has actually paid 2 crores and could not get a single account for that. He received the first legal notice by Shamasji in August 2019 and there are more than 100 emails of this dispute. The main dispute related to Shamasji’s personal bank account and the money fraud case given to his company account, this dispute started from August 2019.”

Below are some key aspects of this case:

• I was giving notice to Alia from July 2019

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother, Shamas, calls their niece’s sexual harassment allegation ‘illegal’

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother Shamas has come out and spoken about the accusation made by his niece. “She is the daughter of our brother who stays in Dehradun. She ran away from home at a minor age and married a boy; my brother had then filed a missing complaint to the connected police station,” Shamas told ETimes, reports timesofindia.indiatimes.com. Shamas added the matter was then taken to the High Court. “This case was going on in Dehradun and then it went to the High Court, she showed fake school certificates to prove that she was not a minor. The matter also went to the Supreme Court and they returned the case of HC, this is a two year old case, pending since 2018,” he said. According to Shamas, the complaint has been against Minaz, his younger brother and that there is no connection to Nawazuddin. “She had made the allegations against my younger brother Minaz in her previous statement but there was clearly no mention of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. But now she is involving Nawaz bhai,” Shamas said. Shamas says that the niece is being instigated. “Aaliya (Nawazuddin’s estranged wife) and Nawaz bhai are already in controversy and now she (niece) is being instigated to do the illegal thing. There are arrest warrants against the girl and her husband from Uttarakhand HC because they never appeared for the court dates. A fine of Rs 20000 has been levied too and her husband has been charged with POCSO Act because she was a minor.” Shamas defended Nawazuddin, who himself has undergone a divorce from his wife. Aaliya, who sent the actor a legal notice demanding a divorce and maintenance from him over issues related to their married life last month. According to timesofindia.indiatimes.com, Shamas said: “How can you defame one person so much? We have as many as 400 relatives, if something happens in our village so you’ll take Nawaz bhai’s name? His name is being abused. She has stated that Bade papa (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) knew about the abuse whereas Nawaz bhai is not related, he hardly ever goes to Dehradun. “A husband-wife matter is going on and we have no involvement in that, but if you name someone, that person should stop going to his village? His mistake is that he is a grounded person and often visits his village, I have often advised him against that,” he added. Shamas is now planning to take legal help. “I have become active but am waiting for the lockdown to end and courts to open. I believe in legal procedures and not media trials,” he concluded. On June 3, Nawazuddin’s niece had filed a sexual harassment case against a man, whom she identified as her uncle in her police complaint. In the complaint, she mentioned that she was sexually harassed by her uncle, when she was nine. “My parents were divorced when I was two years old, so I had a stepmother. I was tortured a lot. As a child I didn’t understand thinking it was my uncle, but when I grew up I realized it was a different kind of touch. There was violence too,” the Times Of India quoted the niece as a saying. Ila Arun on her Ghoomketu costar: ‘I was skeptical to act with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’ — deets inside

Veteran actress Ila Arun, who plays a pivotal role in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer “Ghoomketu”, says that though she has been acting for the last four decades, she was initially sceptical about acting with Nawazuddin. In the film, Nawazuddin plays the central role of a struggling actor, who lands in Mumbai from Bihar to become an actor. “I am not one of those actors who believe that acting for a longer time and having experience makes you superior. The style of acting is evolving, performance is evolving and, as an actor, I have to constantly update myself to stay relevant. Nawaz is such a fine actor and I am so impressed by him. In fact, initially I was skeptical to act with him,” Ila told IANS. Ila Arun added: “He is young, his mind is alert and he adds certain nuance in every scene that takes the character to the next level. I, as a senior actor, had to stay on my toes. I had to stay alert to match up to his performance level.” Directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra, “Ghoomketu” also features Ragini Khanna, Anurag Kashyap, and Swanand Kirkire. “Yes it is true that I have been performing as an actor, as a singer on stage, in TV shows and in films, but look at all the mediums. All has changed. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Raghu (Raghuvir Yadav) and other actors have been excellent! There is a subtlety in Nawa’s performance. He is so on point! I bless him. He is an actor with all emotions on point,” explained the actress, who plays Santo Bua in the film. Ila started acting in 1983 with Shyam Benegal’s “Mandi” and has appeared in films like “Ardh Satya”, “Welcome To Sajjanpur”, “Jodhaa Akbar”, and “Manto” to name a few.

Since she is working for so long, how is it possible that she feels nervous while acting with a junior? “I think the feeling of fear and nervous energy is good for an artiste. I know there are many senior actors who work with newcomers and carry power along with them. They tend to intimidate or say things like, ‘I won’t say the dialogue like this, change it’. I do not believe in that. My acting is the medium to execute one’s vision. I would rather try and understand that. Nawaz is younger to me but his life experience is different from mine. You cannot measure experience with time and years. It is the variety, the exposure that one has. So working with new-age actors makes me feel energetic, observant and alive,” said the actress.

“Ghoomketu” released on ZEE5 on May 22.

I was trying to solve these issues, waiting for them to get better, so I finally had to take this decision. There are many reasons why I finally took this decision. Actually, my self respect was gradually being destroyed. The way you are your raised in the house you come from, how your mother and brother take care of you, and then you are suddenly forced to change your religion…anyway, that was necessary to get married, so I did it for him when he had asked me to. But then, your life changes so badly, that you realise that you were nothing in his life, you never were anything.” Also Read – Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife, Aaliya, still awaiting response from the actor to her legal notice

Nawazuddin Siddiqui opens up on digital platforms; says, ‘In today’s time, OTT it’s the only way people are able to watch films’

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is not concerned about whether his films are seen in theatres or on a streaming platform as he believes that there are times when getting a proper release is in itself a huge achievement. The actor’s latest “Ghoomketu” is set to premiere on ZEE5 on May 22 after a series of delays. The film was completed in 2014. Also Read – When Nawazuddin Siddiqui REVEALED he had a one night stand with a waitress in New York City

“When we were shooting this film, we shot it like how we shoot films for theatres. In today’s time, I think OTT is the only way where people are able to watch films. So I don’t personally think that it really matters to actors.

“And actors shouldn’t be concerned about whether their films release on OTT or theatres anyway. The fact that our films are able to release is in itself a big thing,” Nawazuddin told reporters in a virtual press conference.

The actor has been a long time collaborator of Kashyap as the duo have previously worked together on critically-acclaimed gangster movie “Gangs of Wasseypur”, “Raman Raghav 2.0” and crime drama series “Sacred Games“.

However, it is for the first time they have shared screen space as actors for a film.

Nawazuddin said it was an “interesting” experience because generally actors know where their co-stars will take a pause but it was difficult to predict the same with Kashyap.

“While it was a lot of fun, I was never able to consider him a character. I always felt he was Anurag. I would feel he might say, ‘Cut’ in between and because he is a director I also feared he would catch my mistakes. So there was a little fear when I worked with him as an actor,” he said.

Ghoomketu” is a comedy-drama told from the viewpoint of an inexperienced writer, played by Nawazuddin, struggling to make it big in the film industry in Mumbai.

When asked about his twenty years as an actor in the industry, Nawazuddin said he only started getting work in the last decade.

“The initial 10 years went by in struggle. My aim is just to keep on working, it doesn’t matter if it’s a small role. There are a lot of things that I still have to achieve in life.”

The actor is in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh, where he travelled with his family amid the lockdown as his mother was unwell.

The 46-year-old actor said he has watched over 80 films ever since the coronavirus-forced lockdown started and believes his acting style will change once things are back to normal.

“It feels like there will be a new start for me once the lockdown is over,” he added.
