Kirron Kher diagnosed with blood cancer: Suniel Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, Neetu Kapoor and other celebs pray for her speedy recovery

The veteran and politician, Kirron Kher, who has done memorable roles and impressed us with her performances in films like Devdas, Main Hoon Na, Dostana, Rang De Basanti and others, grabbed the headlines for an unfortunate reason as she was diagnosed with blood cancer. Actor and husband Anupam Kher shared the news today with a note, which reads, “Just so that rumours don’t get the better of a situation Sikandar and I would like to inform everyone that Kirron has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment and we are sure she will come out of this stronger than before. We are very blessed that she is being looked after by a phenomenal set of doctors. She’s always been a fighter and takes things head on. She’s all heart and that’s why she has so many people that love her. So keep sending your love to her in your prayers and in your heart. Indian Idol 12: Neetu Kapoor reveals she sees her late husband, the legendary Rishi Kapoor, in contestant Danish

The Sunday, 28th March, special episode of Indian Idol 12, centred on the legendary Rishi Kapoor, was graced by Neetu Kapoor on stage, and her children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor, albeit via video. Host Aditya Narayan, along with the trio of judges, Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani, were seen spending quality time with Neetu Kapoor while also exchanging some fun banter with Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni when they make their presence felt via video conference. The episode was a nostalgic ride for Neetu Kapoor as all the contestants paid tribute to her husband, the late Rishi Kapoor, with their songs. For the first time, Neetu Singh Kapoor appeared on a show sans Rishi Kapoor, and she shared how nervous she was before setting foot on the Indian Idol stage. Later, she was seen cherishing some beautiful moments with Aditya Narayan, Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya. She also disclosed that Rishi Kapoor always found her very cute and sweet and that they used to call each other Bob, which was a special nickname they had given each other. Neetuji also added how Rishi had proposed to her via a telegram, saying, “He was in Paris whereas I was shooting in Kashmir and suddenly I got a telegram from Rishi saying that he misses me and loves me.” Then came the biggest surprise of all when Neetu Singh confessed how she saw glimpses of Rishi Kapoor in Danish’s performance, no doubt leaving the young singer simultaneously overjoyed and overwhelmed. “Today, in Danis’s performance, I could see a glimpse of Rishi because even he used to perform like you with soul and heart. Even your looks are very similar to Rishi.”

Indian Idol 12: Neetu Kapoor gets tear-eyed recalling how she fell in love with Rishi Kapoor

Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor‘s love story is no less than a romantic Bollywood movie. The two met on the sets of their first film together, Zehreela Insaan (1974) and became friends. Neetu was 14 and had begun taking baby steps into the industry while Rishi was already an established actor. Neetu eventually fell in love with the most person who irritated her the most and Rishi, too, reciprocated the same feelings. The two got married in 1980 and have two kids, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. The veteran actress recently shot for an episode of Indian Idol 12. Though she celebrated Rishi’s achievements and memories, she couldn’t hold back her tears while recalling how they fell in love with each other. Rishi found me very cute and sweet and we used to call each other Bob,” she said. She added that it was actually through a telegram that he confessed his feelings for her. “He was in Paris whereas I was in Kashmir, shooting, and suddenly I got a telegram from Rishi saying he misses me and loves me,” she said. Neetu shared the anecdotes about her relationship with Rishi on Indian Idol 12 when contestants Danish and Nachiket performed on the late veteran actor’s hits, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Chookar Mere Man Ko, which was filmed on Neetu along with Amitabh Bachchan. She was very impressed with the performance. “Today in Danish’s performance, I could see a glimpse of Rishi because even he used to perform like you, with soul and heart. RIP Rishi Kapoor: A month after the veteran actor’s demise, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni remembers her father with an emotional post

It’s a month since we received the ghastly news of Rishi Kapoor’s demise. It was and still is a huge shock for everyone. Though it’s been a month, we are still yet to come to terms with the fact that he is not more and that we would never be able to watch more of him on celluloid anymore. Rishi’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of her family with her mom and dad remembering him. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni wasn’t in Mumbai when Rishi Kapoor breathed his last. She resides in Delhi and was practicing self-isolation amidst the lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic when her veteran actor father passed away. She took special permission from the police to come and visit Mumbai and be by her family’s side while grieving. She has been posting a lot of pictures and selfies with her father and family remembering him. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni was very close to her father. Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on April 30 after battling leukaemia for 2 years. Post his demise, Kapoor family released an official statement, which reads, “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukaemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last. He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him.
